Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
The item upgrade allows players to increase the level of their equippable items such as trinkets, weapons, and armor over a certain threshold. You can upgrade items at any NPC that accepts the appropriate currency.
Upgrade components are integrated into equipment to give attributes bonuses and other effects. Most of these upgrades are slot-restricted, but a few are universal.
Rerolling
A player is able to reroll an upgrade for an item in Diablo 4. This is accomplished by using the Level Up feature, which stops your game and shows four randomly-chosen upgrades. Other upgrade components can only be slotted in weapon accessories and offer a small amount of bonus without increasing damage.
Requirements
Upgrading items is a crucial aspect of increasing your character effectiveness and strength in battle. Upgrades to items can increase an item's stats base or add an additional suffix or prefix. The amount of stats that an item can upgrade depends on its rarity. Upgrades can be found in dungeons, raids, or bought from vendors. They can also be found in random drops or taken from other players.
There is no solution to the "not worth it" feeling that some players experience when they upgrade certain items. In ideal scenarios, the game would give more details about the upgrade in its compare interface, for instance "X stats gained and X stats lost." This is not practical to implement due to the complexity of the comparison process. There isn't enough room in the UI to do it right.
A script that examines the requirements of an item's upgrade before allowing the item to be upgraded is a different solution. Costs
Upgrades to gear can boost its physical power, spell power, and health (for rings and armor) or add an additional benefit while it's in your inventory. You can get upgrade components by crafting or purchase them from vendors. They can also be looted or dropped from other players, on the Trading Post, or as rewards. Upgrade components can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets. They can also be attached on gathering tools. However, the majority of upgrade components are not able to be replaced or salvaged except with the help of an Upgrade Extractor. The only exception is the glyphs. These can be salvaged by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or the Ascended Salvage tool.
Depending on the kind of item, upgrading an item could cost Dilithium or gold. Some upgrades also require Flightstones or crests. The amount of crests and Flightstones required to upgrade an item varies on the gear's level and a maximum upgrade level is set by Blizzard. Upgrades to the highest upgrade level can be costly, especially when you're upgrading PvE gear.
